American starlet Christian Pulisic could be joining Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund after former USA international Eddie Johnson made a huge error on his Instagram story and appeared to confirm the transfer.
Chelsea have been after the talented forward for some time whilst Bild reported over the weekend that the move had been completed and the Blues would sign the American in the summer transfer window.
Now it seems the move has taken a step closer to completion after Eddie Johnson seemed to leak the move on his Instagram. Johnson, he played for Fulham, Preston and Cardiff in the U.K, is close with the player and put up an edited picture of the player in a half and half shirt
He captioned the image: ‘So stoked for you lil’ bro, great move. Can’t wait to watch you alongside Eden Hazard.’
This appears to leak a huge signing for Chelsea who are hoping to bring in one of Europe’s top talents in the summer. Premier League leaders Liverpool had made a £45m bid for the 20-year-old whilst he was also being chased by Bayern Munich after an impressive start to the Bundesliga campaign.
Dortmund are currently top of the league with Pulisic having contributed seven goals in 18 appearances however the player’s contract expires in 2020 and the Yellows are keen to cash in on him at the end of the season having attempted and failed with previous contract negotiations.
Pulisic had hinted at a move to England ahead of USA’s international with the Three Lions in November. He said: “England, the Premier League, is where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why one day I won’t play here,’ Pulisic said before England’s match with the United States in November.
“We are having a great year at Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that. Then when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, that’s when those things will happen.”
